Hair Botox vs Nanoplasty: Which Is Right for Your Hair?

One of the most common questions we hear from clients is:

Should I choose Hair Botox or Nanoplasty?

The answer really depends on what struggles you’re experiencing with your hair and what result you’re hoping to achieve.

Many clients come to us wanting smoother, healthier-looking hair with less frizz, but they don’t necessarily want to lose volume or natural movement, especially if they have finer hair.

Other clients are tired of dealing with thick, coarse or highly frizzy hair and are looking for a longer-lasting solution that will make their hair easier to manage every day.

While both Hair Botox and Nanoplasty help improve the appearance and manageability of the hair, they are very different treatments and are suited to different hair types and goals.

At Second Avenue Hair, we perform both treatments regularly and always recommend the option that best suits your hair type, lifestyle and desired result.

What Is Hair Botox?

Despite the name, Hair Botox does not contain Botox.

Hair Botox is a deep conditioning treatment designed to help improve the overall condition of the hair while reducing frizz, increasing shine and improving manageability.

We often recommend Hair Botox for clients who have:

  • Dry hair
  • Damaged hair
  • Bleached hair
  • Coloured hair
  • Hair lacking moisture and shine

One of the biggest advantages of Hair Botox is that it helps improve the condition of the hair while maintaining natural body and movement.

Many clients with finer hair are concerned about reducing frizz without losing volume. In these cases, Hair Botox is often an excellent option because it helps smooth the hair while still allowing it to retain a softer, more natural appearance.

What Is Nanoplasty?

Nanoplasty is a completely different treatment system.

At Second Avenue Hair, we use Sarah K Nanoplasty, an amino acid-based treatment designed to penetrate deeper into the hair structure and provide long-lasting frizz reduction.

Because of this, Nanoplasty generally lasts longer than Hair Botox and can create a smoother and straighter-looking appearance.

While Nanoplasty is not a hair straightening treatment, many clients notice their hair appears significantly smoother because frizz, puffiness and excess volume are reduced.

Nanoplasty is often our recommendation for clients with thick, coarse or highly frizzy hair who are looking for a smoother, more manageable result with a straighter appearance and long-lasting frizz reduction.

Which Treatment Lasts Longer?

This is another question we are asked regularly.

Hair Botox typically lasts around 2 to 4 months depending on your hair type, home care routine and washing frequency.

Nanoplasty generally lasts between 4 and 8 months when maintained with professional sulphate-free and paraben-free products.

Regardless of which treatment you choose, using professional hair care at home plays an important role in maintaining your results. The right shampoo, conditioner and aftercare products can help prolong the life of your treatment and keep your hair looking healthier for longer.

For clients looking for the longest-lasting frizz reduction and smoother hair, Nanoplasty is usually the stronger option.

Which Treatment Is Better For Frizzy Hair?

Both treatments can help reduce frizz, but they suit different levels of frizz.

Hair Botox is ideal for clients who want healthier-looking hair with less frizz while maintaining natural movement and texture.

Nanoplasty is often better suited to clients with stronger frizz, thicker hair or hair that becomes difficult to manage in humid weather.

Which Treatment Is Better For Bleached Hair?

Both Hair Botox and Nanoplasty can be suitable for bleached hair following a professional consultation.

Hair Botox is often recommended when the priority is hydration, softness and improving the overall condition of the hair.

Nanoplasty can also be suitable for blonde and bleached hair, however we always assess the hair first to ensure it has sufficient strength and elasticity before proceeding.

Hair Botox vs Nanoplasty: Which Do We Recommend?

There is no single treatment that is right for everyone.

If your main concern is dryness, damage, hydration and improving the overall condition of your hair, Hair Botox may be the better option.

If your main concern is long-lasting frizz reduction, smoother hair and easier day-to-day styling, Nanoplasty may be the better choice.

The best treatment depends on your hair type, your concerns and the result you are hoping to achieve.

This is why we always recommend a professional consultation before deciding which treatment is most suitable for your hair.
